The Doctor’s new companion has been revealed and it looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun. Actress Pearl Mackie will take on the role of Bill. We don’t know much about her, but we know she will meet the Daleks.
Shooting the trailer was absolutely mental, there were pyro technics and smoke and I met my first Dalek! ~ Pearl Mackie
Here’s the best quote from last night’s season finale of The Walking Dead.
Dr. Eugene Porter: These tracks… they would indicate they not only have people, but some big-ass toys and capabilities.
Sgt. Abraham Ford: What it indicates is we are neck-deep up shit creek with our mouths wide open.
I nearly snarfed my coffee when I heard that.

The Doctor: This whole world is swimming in Wi-Fi. We’re living in a Wi-Fi soup! Suppose something got inside it. Suppose there was something living in the Wi-Fi, harvesting human minds, extracting them. Imagine that. Human souls trapped like flies in the World Wide Web, stuck for ever, crying out for help.
Clara Oswin: Isn’t that basically Twitter?
Imagine a show that combines the anti-corporate craziness of Fight Club with the subversive hacker heroism of The Matrix. Add some great acting, and a fascinating conspiracy that’s unfolding in the hazy realm between our dystopian nightmares and hard reality. That’s Mr. Robot, which debuted last night on USA.

I didn’t think the first episode was particularly thrilling, except maybe for the part where they’re trying to keep the virus from reaching a server. (And I didn’t think it was particularly accurate.) The show is overtly political, wasn’t too hard to figure out that Evil Corp. was really Enron. Somebody from the MoveOn or Occupy Wall Street crowd must have written major parts of the script.
I really want to like this show, so I hope for better in the next episode…
“I panicked…”
