Cyber-bullying

Forget detention: Illlinois students might have to forfeit their Facebook passwords http://troms.me/6z9

Cracked Facebook LogoSo in order to stop cyber-bullying, the state and the schools are going to bully children into giving up their social media passwords? That doesn’t make any sense.

  1. Giving out your Facebook password or requiring others to give you their Facebook password violates the Facebook terms of service.
  2. If you’re not accessing Facebook from school computers, then they have no right to violate your privacy.
  3. Even if you’re a student in a public school, you have a reasonable right to privacy. The 4th and 5th Amendments still apply.

My response: Come back with a search warrant and even then I’ll assert my 5th Amendment rights.
